FORGOTTEN??? The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster from 1986 in Ukraine (former USSR) It is 40 year ago that the largest man-made disaster in worlds history happened. And it seems that humanity, at least here on LinkedIn, has forgotten about it. With the day in Chernobyl just a little more than an hour old, the world experienced this largest man-made disaster by the explosion of the nuclear reactor number 4. It destroyed this RMBK-1000 reactor, blowing a huge opening into the whole reactor building and releasing massive amounts of radioactive material. A lot of this material can still be found in the 30 km-exclusion zone around the rector but also all over the world, especially Europe. Officially only a few people died, less than 5 depending on time and source, but unofficially and counting all the long-term deaths and illnesses, 10th of thousands of people died. And some years later, we experienced a similar, luckily not such a deadly catastrophe again, Fukushima in 2011. So, why was there no mentioning on LinkedIn on 26. April 2026, the 40. -sad- anniversary of the man-made largest catastrophe ever - CHERNOBYL NUCLEAR DISASTER?Activate to view larger image,
